About Us

"But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless."
 -1 Corinthians 15:57-58

We are the Sanders Family. Each day, we have the same responsibilities as many other families. We have children to raise, jobs to work, and bills to pay.  Amidst all of the trials and busyness that life brings, it can be so easy to take our eyes off of Jesus.  We live in a sinful world that is full of hurt and despair, but we cannot forget that we have HOPE in Jesus Christ.  This life is nothing but a little mist that will soon be gone, but we have a short opportunity to impact others for eternity.

As followers of Christ, we all have the responsibility to obey the callings God places on our hearts. This past summer, God placed a huge call on our lives. Northwest Community Church (NCC), in Bella Vista, Arkansas, asked our family to come serve at their church, where my husband will take on the role of Student and Missions Pastor. We have always told God that we would be willing to go anywhere and do anything, so now is the time to see if we will really be obedient. In order for us to serve at NCC, it means leaving behind a church and job that we love at Northway Church in Macon, Georgia.  My husband resigned as the Student Pastor at our church in Macon, and I resigned as the Childcare Coordinator.  We are moving to Arkansas, where my husband will be a bi-vocational minister.

So, why do we feel like God wants us to move to Northwest Arkansas?

A recent report predicts that Northwest Arkansas will be the third fastest-growing economy among large metropolitan areas in the nation through 2020. The metropolitan area is the home of Wal-mart and Tyson Foods and J.B. Hunt Transport Services. Over 1300 Wal-mart vendors have added corporate branches or offices in the area as well. Because so many large companies are now adding offices and branches in this area, there is a huge opportunity to reach out to people who have little or no church background. People will be moving to a town where they do not know anyone and looking for people with whom they can connect. We will be seeking opportunities to meet these people and introduce them to the gospel through the local church.

NCC has already begun to reach out to the un-churched. While it is super exciting to reach out and see people become believers, these new believers do not know much about the Bible. So, we will be discipling these new believers, helping them to understand God’s Word so that they can make more disciples for Christ. The youth group at NCC has just formed its first small group, and we will also be overseeing this ministry. We hope to take our training and experience from Northway to equip the students at NCC. Furthermore, Scott and I both have a passion for overseas missions, and the members at NCC are eager to take their first overseas mission trip. So, we will be overseeing these trips.

As you can see, our work is definitely cut out for us. We have huge tasks ahead of us that only God can accomplish. Of course, one of the scariest parts for us right now is the financial part. We will only be receiving healthcare from NCC, so we will not be receiving a paycheck at all. Scott will be getting a part-time job, possibly as a school-bus driver or substitute teacher, to help us cover basic needs, but it will not be enough for rent and groceries every month.

We would like to ask you to partner with us to reach the un-churched in Northwest Arkansas. Would you prayerfully consider supporting us financially? We understand what it is like to have a tight budget and we appreciate your willingness to help us spread the gospel through Northwest Arkansas. We would like to use this blog to inform you of the ways God is working at NCC.  Thank you for partnering with us.
